Niya Williams

My name is Niya Williams and was born and raised in Paso Robles. I graduated class of 2019 from PRHS, and growing up I experienced some pretty horrific racism. I knew that our town was better than this, so I got to work. During my time at PRHS I established the Black Student Union, and listened closely to students express their similar experiences. I currently study Political Science at San Jose State University and will graduate class of 2022. SJSU has played a pivotal role in my growth, and has opened my eyes to how accepting our environments can be. My experiences motivate me to create a more accepting town for my brothers and all who live here. No one should have to experience what I have experienced. Hate has no place in Paso Robles, and together we can work towards celebrating diversity.
