Sondra Williams

My name is Sondra Williams and I am a chair of the Community Outreach committee.

I was born in Twin Cities Hospital, and have been in love with Paso Robles for as long as I can remember. Although my education led me all across the United States , I always longed for home. The greatest thing I learned from my travels is that my love of culture, and my need to connect to diverse rich environments. I am multiracial. Ethnically ambiguous, if you will. I never had a place to identify. I married a Black man and together we have Four of the most dynamic, solid and phenomenal individuals who define my journey.  It was in my early parenting when it became evident that being an advocate for diversity, and fostering the growth of cultural richness in our small town was a moral responsibility. I have had the honor of being involved with many of your families through my work as an Emergency Room RN for many years, a Paso Robles youth cheer director and an owner of our small business Twisted & Glazed. I have committed to joining some of the most passionate and powerful individuals to help reshape our town. I will be working with Community Outreach, and through culture rich events, art work, highlighting minority owned businesses, cultural festivals in our downtown parks and so many more opportunities that will blossom from that, we will elevate the people of color in Paso Robles. Although we are a powerfully loving community we have some serious work to be done to battle racism. Increasing diversity in our educational systems, our law enforcement branches, our council chambers, and even our medical staff will help better our community. We will live a limited life until inclusivity becomes a priority! It will be an honor to see ALL of the people who live in our town represented, a place where everyone belongs. It’s time for boots to hit the ground, there is strength in unity.
