Susana A. Lopez, PhD

Dr. Susana A. Lopez is a bicultural and bilingual (English/Spanish) licensed clinical psychologist and educator who specializes in culturally-humble and trauma-informed psychological intervention and training for underserved communities.  Dr. Lopez completed her Ph.D. from the University of California Santa Barbara and an American Psychological Association Approved predoctoral internship at the USC/Los Angeles Children Hospital with a focus on community mental health. In addition, she completed a 2 yr. postdoctoral fellowship at UCLA. As an immigrant herself, Dr. Lopez has a passion for working with families on issues related to life transitions, immigration/acculturation processes, and community health. Dr. Lopez carries multiple roles in our community. She is the co-founder of Resilience Psychological Collaborative, Inc. in Atascadero, Ca. She is also a senior research associate for UCLA and a lecturer at Cal Poly SLO in the Psychology and Child Development Department. Her teaching and research focus on multicultural issues and experiences. Both professionally and personally, she is passionate about doing anti-racism work and strives for a just community for all. In addition, she was raised in Paso Robles and now is raising, along with her husband, their two daughters here. She enjoys volunteering, reading, and exploring as a family our beautiful central coast community.
