Ty Lewis

Chief Lewis holds a Master of Science Degree in Administration and is a graduate of the California Police Officer Standards of Training Command College. In 1996, he began a career in law enforcement as a police officer with the City of Porterville; later transferring to the City of Bakersfield in 2000. The Paso Robles Police Department hired Chief Lewis in 2002 as a police officer, and he worked his way through the ranks serving as a Detective, Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Commander. In March of 2018, City Manager Tom Frutchey selected Commander Lewis to succeed Chief Robert Burton upon his retirement in July of 2018.

The Paso Robles City Council confirmed Commander Lewis’ appointment as Paso Robles next Police Chief on April 3, 2018.
